Dear MAPS Member,.
Our Special Meeting was held on November 2, 2008 with about
40 members present. A motion to dissolve the Ann Arbor Chapter
of the Funeral Consumers Association and merge with the Detroit
Chapter (FCIS) was approved. Responding to some concerns raised
at the meeting, this final letter is being sent to all members.
1. The State
of Michigan is requiring formal dissolution material--including
financial reports. This is an extra burden being handled by
Marilyn Trytten and Rhea Kish. We will take
care of this matter as long as necessary.
2. The membership files have updated and will be sent to the
Detroit Group; their office phone number is 313-886-0998. We
will not forward any name that was asked to be removed.
3. If you had any personal information in the MAPS files, it
is being returned to you along with this letter.
4.Our office and Web site will be closed down on Feb. 28, 2009.
Until then, the Web will show this letter including the one
below from Wendy Lyon.
Closing down has taken more effort than we expected., but we
are pleased you will be able to get help through the Detroit
Group. The following message welcomes you to your new Group.

on our annual meeting. In the meantime, visit our Web site,

and a variety of helpful resources.

assistance from a member of our board.
